Top 10 ways to SAVE WATER FOR THE WORLD

The average person in the India uses around 150 litres of water every day in the home, with one-third of that flushed straight down the toilet and a lot more wasted. Here are some hints and tips that should help you to save water:

1. Put a brick, a bottle filled with sand, or a Hippo / Bog-Hog bag into your toilet cistern. This reduces the amount of water you flush down the toilet.

2. Don't use a hose pipe to wash the car. Use a bucket and sponge.

3. Water plants and the lawn in the evening so that the water has a chance to soak in overnight. If you water in the day time, most of the water will evaporate before it has done any good. Water you've used to boil vegetables can be used to water plants.

4. Take a shower instead of a bath and you will use half as much water.

5. Don't leave the tap running while you clean your teeth or shave. If you leave the tap running you could be wasting up to 10 litres per minute.

6. Only run your washing machine and dishwasher when you have a full load.

7. Repair dripping taps. One drop per second is a waste of up to 3000 gallons per year.

8. Store tap water in a bottle in the fridge rather than running the water every time you want a cold drink.

9. Collect rainwater in a water butt and use it for watering the garden.

10. Lift the blade on your lawnmower so that the grass is cut an inch or two longer so that its roots are shaded and retain water.

Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams - Randy_Pausch

On September 18, 2007, computer science professor Randy Pausch stepped in front of an audience of 400 people at Carnegie Mellon University to deliver a last lecture called “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.” With slides of his CT scans beaming out to the audience, Randy told his audience about the cancer that is devouring his pancreas and that will claim his life in a matter of months. On the stage that day, Randy was youthful, energetic, handsome, often cheerfully, darkly funny. He seemed invincible. But this was a brief moment, as he himself acknowledged.

Randy’s lecture has become a phenomenon, as has the book he wrote based on the same principles, celebrating the dreams we all strive to make realities. Sadly, Randy lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on July 25th, 2008, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all, for generations to come.

This is amazing, he died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007. What a legacy to leave behind…
In a letter to his wife Jai and his children, Dylan, Logan , and Chloe, he wrote this beautiful "guide to a better life" for his wife and children to follow. May you be blessed by his insight.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Personality:

1. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
2. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment
3. Don't overdo; keep your limits
4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does
5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/ her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
10. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more
14. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Community:

15. Call your family often
16. Each day give something good to others
17. Forgive everyone for everything
18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
19. Try to make at least three people smile each day
20. What other people think of you is none of your business
21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:

22. Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.
23. GOD heals everything
24. Do the right things
25. However good or bad a situation is, it will change
26. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
27. The best is yet to come
28. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
29. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it
30. If you know GOD, you will always be happy. So, be happy.

While you practice all of the above, share this knowledge with the people you love, people you school with, people you play with, people you work with and people you live with.
Not onl y will it enrich YOUR life, but also that of those around you

Live and let live

Live -

  • Put bright color in your surroundings, and you’ll bring more brightness and color to your own life.
  • Be as considerate of the feelings of others as you would have them be of your own.
  • Be Modest, but don’t belittle yourself. The center of your being is the center of the universe as far as your own understanding is considered. At the center, awaiting your discovery, lies all the power of infinity.

  • Be Courageous in your decision making . “What if?” and “ what if not?” keep people sitting forever on a fence. Even a poor decision may be preferable to making no decision at all: At least it will keep the energy flowing, a flow which may, in time, attract good decisions.

Let others Live

  • As the gardener water the flowers, so water the hearts of others.
  • Offer hope to those who are losing hope. Help them to see that their potentials reach out to infinity.
  • Offer encouragement, whenever you find sorrow or despair. No defeat is permanent; Often, it is the precursor to stunning victory.
  • Offer happiness, whenever you see gloom. Pity is demeaning, but happiness, offered without imposing it, can be a lifeboat on a stormy sea.
  • Dharma (righteousness) is the foundation for the welfare of humanity, it is the eternal truth. When the effulgence of Dharma fails to illumine human relationships, mankind will become enveloped in the darkness of sorrow. Man must dedicate himself to Dharma so that he may live in peace and the world may also enjoy peace. He cannot acquire lasting peace nor can he win the grace of God through any means other than by leading a Dharmic life.

How should be our devotion towards GOD.

Devotion to God is not to be calculated on the basis of the institutions one has started or helped, the temples one has built or renovated, the donations one has given away, nor does it depend on the number of times one has written the Name of the Lord or on the time and energy one has spent in the worship of the Lord. These are not vital at all, no, not even secondary. Devotion is Divine Love, unsullied by any tinge of desire for the benefit that flows from it, or the fruit or consequence of that love. It is love that knows no particular reason for its manifestation. It is of the nature of the love of the soul for the Oversoul; the river for the sea; the creeper for the tree, the star for the sky, the spring for the cliff down which it flows. It is sweet, in bad times as well as good. It is an unchanging attitude, a desirable bent of the mind, standing steady through joy and grief.

Devotion is no sign of weakness; it is a sign of courage, of wisdom, of discrimination; it alone can give soukhyam and shaanthi (happiness and peace). Every one has one day or other to fall in line with you, for every one is terribly anxious to get these two. They try, in their ignorance or excitement, various other remedies, but this remedy alone can cure them.

Make four resolutions about your life hereafter:

(1) Purity: Desist from wicked thoughts, bad habits, low activities that weaken your self-respect.

(2) Service: Serve others, for they are the reflections of the same entity of which you are yourself another reflection. No one of you has any authenticity, except with reference to the One Original.

(3) Mutuality: Feel always kinship with all creation. See the same current flowing through all the objects in the Universe.

(4) Truth: Do not deceive yourself or others, by distorting your experience.

Mother - Walking deity

There are so many religions , castes, sects adoring several Gods, But our Common God is our mother. Mother is replaced by the God to lookafter all of us. Do whatever you want, God will never appear before you, to solve your problems but not your mother.
Though you curse her yet she loves you.

For hindus Bhaghavthgeetha,
For muslims Quran,
For Christians Bible,
there is some measure
but the love of mother is just like an ocean
you cannot put it in small books...

Control your senses

One may say, "I am striving to control the mind but it runs about like a mad dog. How am I to succeed?" Therein lies a mistake. The mind is intangible, but, it is attached to the senses. Hence, control the senses; let them not draw you into the objective world. By this means, the mind can be made an instrument of illumination and not of delusion. The truth will then dawn that this Atma (individual soul) is Brahman (God). The splendour of this awareness will drive away the darkness of ignorance, for, the Atma (Self) is jyothi (light) and there can be no Thamas (darkness of ignorance) where there is light.

Hypnosis - Yourself

With every breath you take, think that you are inhaling energy. Practice this exercise: Bend forward and exhale, then slowly raise your upper body, inhaling. Finally, stretch your hands high above the head.

Feel the energy slowly fill your body from your toes to the very tips of your fingers.

Develop the dynamic faith. It isn't enough memory to believe in a Higher Power, Passively. Offer yourself with all the trust that is in you, that you be allowed to serve as an instrument of that power.

Incarnation

As you begin this day , tell yourself, "Today Iam incarnated anew!
I am released from the hypnosis of my old habits and mistakes!
Everything that I have long dreamed of doing I will accomplish in this, My new life."
