How to enhance breast milk production?
Feeding 
is the best way to increase the breast milk production. The nipple suckling by the baby acts as a stimulant to mother’s brain to induce hormones which enhances breast milk. This is why, soon after the birth, mothers are encouraged to feed the baby, though the milk production will be very low initially. If they do not feed, then there will be no stimulation, leading to lack of production.
Herbs and treatments that decrease human milk production:If there is decrease in breast milk production, then usage of astringent tasting herbs like Haritaki, betel nut etc should be avoided. Astringent taste is drying in nature.

Heat 1tsp garlic and 2tsp carom seeds in sesame oil, till they are red in color. Cool it and strain to put some drops into the ears. This is also useful to treat boils in ears.

34. Flatulence:

Soak 3 tbsp of carom seeds in lime juice. Dry this in the shade. Powder and mix it with little black salt and consume 1 tsp twice a day with warm water.

35. Joint pains:

Mix shatavari, black cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and carom seeds. Powder this and take ½ tsp every morning.

Curry leaves – 2 to 3
Dry grapes – 2
Carom seeds – 1 pinch
Sugar– to taste
Method:

Add curry leaves, dry grapes, carom seeds in one cup of water and cook. Add sugar if required for taste. Drink 1 glass a day. This will stop greying of hair.

37. Colic:

Boil 1 tsp of fennel seeds and ½ tsp of carom seeds in ½ liter of water. Cook it on a low flame for 5 minutes. Cool and strain it. Drink a cup daily after meals.

38. Diabetes:

Dry few neem leaves in the shade. Powder and store in a jar. At night, mix 1 tsp of the powder in hot milk with ½ tsp of powdered cumin and carom seeds. Consume it for 30 days.

39. Paralysis:

Carom seeds soaked in water and consumed daily can be useful in treating paralysis, trembling and shaking.

40. Eye cleanser:

Boil handful of carom seeds in a water. Cool and strain. Wash your eyes with this water to clean it.

Carom seeds have been used in ancient times to cure deafness. Put few drops of this oil in your ears to get rid of this condition.

11 Home Remedies for Treating High Blood Pressure



What is High Blood Pressure?

According to the American Heart Association, nearly one in three adults in the United States has high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. The upper or first number in a blood pressure reading is the systolic pressure and the lower or second number is the diastolic pressure. According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute guidelines:

Normal blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg.
Pre-hypertension is systolic pressure that's between 120 to 139 or diastolic pressure between 80 and 89.
Stage 1 hypertension is systolic pressure between 140 to 159 or diastolic pressure between 90 and 99 mmHg or higher.
Stage 2 hypertension is systolic pressure higher than 160 or diastolic pressure of 100 or higher.
Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

Lifestyle changes and natural remedies may help, although there isn’t enough evidence about any supplement to recommend it as a standard treatment. It's important to work with your medical doctor, because uncontrolled high blood pressure may damage organs in the body and increase the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and vision loss.

1) Garlic

According to the numerous studies in humans, garlic appears to lower blood pressure, particularly systolic blood pressure. In general, the magnitude of the reduction has been less than 10mmHg (less than 10%) in people with high blood pressure.

The active constituents in garlic are thought to be the sulfur-containing compounds including allicin, which may act on the body’s nitric oxide system which relaxes the arteries and lowers systolic blood pressure. Studies on the use of garlic in people with high blood pressure have used 600-2400mg of garlic powder or aged garlic extract in single or divided doses, taken for up to 12 weeks.

2) Fish Oil / Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that are found in fish and some plant foods. The available research in humans suggests that they may help lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. The omega-3 fatty acid DHA may have greater benefits than EPA, or eicosapentaenooic acid.

Studies have generally found that the reduction in blood pressure has been small – in order to achieve clinically relevant effects, higher doses of omega-3 fatty acids may be needed, which can also cause an increased risk of bleeding in susceptible people including those with bleeding disorders or taking medications such as warfarin (Coumadin), aspirin, or ginkgo. 3) Hibiscus

Hibiscus tea (from the plant Hibiscus sabdariffa) and supplements have been found to lower blood pressure in human studies. A systematic review of four randomized controlled trials found that in two studies testing the effects of hibiscus tea to black tea, hibiscus tea was associated with reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Two studies comparing hibiscus extract to angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (captopril or lisinopril) also showed reductions for hibiscus tea groups, but the effects were generally less than those of the ACE-inhibitor groups. Additional high-quality studies are needed to confirm these findings. 4) Chocolate / Cocoa Extract

Several studies in humans have shown that eating dark chocolate or chocolate or cocoa products enriched with flavonols may slightly lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure or pre-hypertensive people. Consuming 50g cocoa per day is associated with a 2-3mm Hg reduction in blood pressure. Further research is needed, because not all human studies have found an effect.

Chocolate may affect the nitric oxide system resulting in vasodilation and lower blood pressure. It also may inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme. One thing to keep in mind is that chocolate also contains caffeine and sugar, among other ingredients. Large amounts of caffeine (greater than 400mg day) can increase blood pressure and the sugar content may affect blood sugar levels. More: Cocoa Extract for Heart Health.

5) Magnesium

The results are mixed on whether the mineral magnesium may help lower blood pressure, with a number of studies suggesting a small but significant in reduction in blood pressure. A 2012 meta-analysis concluded that magnesium supplementation reduced blood pressure by 2-3mmHg for diastolic blood pressure and 3-4mmHg for systolic blood pressure. Magnesium may be of particular benefit to people with high blood pressure who are deficient in magnesium and intravenous magnesium sulfate is commonly administered for preeclampsia and eclampsia in pregnancy. 6) Vitamin D

Found naturally in fish, eggs, fortified milk, cod liver oil and produced naturally during exposure to the sun, low levels of vitamin D may have a role in the development of high blood pressure.  Although research is very limited, studies note that blood pressure is often elevated when there is reduced exposure to sunlight/vitamin D (during the winter, greater distances from the equator, and dark skin pigmentation). 7) Green Coffee Extract

Green coffee refers to raw coffee beans (from the Coffea fruits) that have not been roasted. Some studies have found that chlorogenic acid, a component in green coffee extract, may lower blood pressure. Chlorogenic acid is also present in roasted coffee, but roasted coffee consumption has been found to increase blood pressure in some studies. Some researchers suggest that the different effects of roasted and green coffee on blood pressure may be due to a compound called hydroxyhydroquinone, which is formed during the roasting process and may block the beneficial effects of chlorogenic acid on blood pressure. Ferulic acid, a metabolite of 5-caffeoylquinic acid, may also be responsible for the hypotensive effects of green coffee extract.

Further research is needed particularly with respect to the side effects and drug interactions – for instance one study found that high doses of chlorogenic acid (2g daily) raised plasma homocysteine levels (a cardiovascular risk factor) whereas a much lower dose did not. 8) Diet and Weight Loss

Being overweight puts increases pressure on artery walls. If overweight, a weight loss diet to bring body weight into a healthy range may help to reduce blood pressure. In addition to a diet that emphasizes whole, fresh fruits and vegetables and lean protein, juicing vegetables may help to increase one's intake of vegetables.

Vegetable juice, particularly from green leafy vegetables, can increase folic acid, a B vitamin that may help to lower high blood pressure in some people, possibly by reducing elevated homocysteine levels. Dark leafy greens are also high in potassium. A meta-analysis of five trials indicated that potassium supplementation compared to a control resulted in a large but statistically non-significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (mean difference 11.2 mm Hg) and diastolic blood pressure (5.0 mm hg).

9) Tea / Reduced Caffeine Intake

Caffeine intake can result in a temporary but marked increase in blood pressure. It does this to a greater degree in people with high blood pressure compared with those with normal blood pressure. An alternative to higher-caffeine beverages is green tea, as green tea catechins have been found in some studies to reduce blood pressure. A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that overweight or obese men given EGCG (a compound in green tea) extract had a reduction in diastolic blood pressure (-2.68mmHg) compared to those given a placebo.

10) Reduced Sodium Intake

Too much sodium can lead to fluid retention which can raise blood pressure, especially in people who are sensitive to sodium. It is estimated that 60% of people with essential hypertension can decrease their blood pressure by reducing their sodium intake.

Low potassium can raise sodium in cells, because sodium and potassium balance each other.

11) Alcohol in Moderation

Some studies suggest that moderate alcohol intake, particularly red wine, is linked with increasing levels of HDL and a slight reduction in blood pressure, however excessive consumption may raise triglyceride levels and increase blood pressure.

12 Rules for Lifetime Happiness




"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get" -Tom Hanks, Hollywood movie: Forrest Gump.

But for those who take critical decisions, life can be different. How true that is. Stare life in the eyes as you experience it like a roller coaster ride.

The meaning of your life is something you create day after day with your own actions and thoughts. Life is made up of choices and decision making is critical as each choice has both consequences and benefits; please weigh the latter and always choose life. Always ask what you can learn, and how you can move forward, and stop yourself from blaming other people if things aren't the way you would like them to be.

Steps

1. Carpe Diem or Seize the Day. Live each day as if it's your last and overall just do it! Like they say Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present. Life presents us with a lifetime of opportunities but the opportunity of a lifetime is got when right choices are followed. Be present to enjoy the moment. Each day is a fresh start with options just waiting to be explored, so what are you waiting for?

2.Full acceptance to the present. This is a great way to live life. It means accept your present the way it is, means anything from your habits to the people you come across in life, your thoughts to what people say, etc, Accept it and offer no resistance to it. There is a Zen saying All that arises, goes through, it means you cannot resist the flow with life, a true way to change things is not to offer any resistance to life. Think deeply it does not mean accept the things the way they and not trying to change them. It means to be truly yourself, accepting the things around you, and then trying to change them. It is a mark of pro-activity. Ask yourself 'Has my resistance helped me in anyway?' .

Remember 'Life goes on'.
Accept yourself. Don’t judge yourself. This is the very first step you must take if you really want to live your life to the fullest. Why? Because if you’re judging yourself, or making part of you wrong, you’ll limit yourself. And if you limit yourself you can’t live life to the fullest.


3. Be adventurous. Explore, live on the edge a little, and embrace new challenges. Visit new places with your loved ones. Take the road less traveled. Don’t stick to the same old, same old. Life is more exciting with adventure!

4. Keep a journal. Record your victories in life as well as your delights. Take time to reflect on what has been previously written. Be an inspiration to yourself and others.

5. Express Gratitude. Recognize daily the things you are grateful for. Let your family, friends, and other significant ones know how grateful you are to have them. Share and express love while you can.

6. Love everyone Love yourself. Focus on your inner and outer beauty to see the same in others. Acceptance comes from within. Don’t focus on the things you don’t like about yourself. Rather, find the things you love about yourself. Aren't you the closest person and most important person to you in the world?
Love others. Love the ones who treat you right. Give love without expecting it to be returned. Be selfless in your attitude towards others.

7.Accept everyone. Be kind and courteous. Enjoy the company of others. Acknowledge their goodness rather than the differences in their beliefs. Do not judge others. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

6. Find purpose in life. Find something that gives your life meaning, be it being a great friend, sibling, parent, grandparent, teacher, neighbor, etc. Once you have found something to live for, you’ll live better. If it's not your relationships as a central purpose, maybe it's your occupation or something that you do outside work that makes a difference to others. The meaning of your life is something you decide. Set goals and move toward them in small reasonable steps.

9. Give back. Be selfless in service to others. Begin with your neighbor. Do charitable service outside of your immediate community as well. Giving back will not only make you better as a person, it will help others.

8. Be realistic. Set attainable goals according to your abilities and talents. Consider each effort to be an attainment. Achieve one step before the other towards stability and security.

11. Seek balance. Understand the night and day, back and forth, good and bad in all things.

Garlic - A Great Herb from GOD- Health Benefits

You can increase the health benefits you receive from garlic by letting it sit after you've chopped it or crushed it. If you give your chopped/crushed garlic time to sit before changing its temperature (through cooking) or its pH (through the addition of acidic food like lemon juice), it will give the alliinase enzymes in garlic an opportunity to work on behalf of your health. For example, in the absence of chopping or crushing, research has shown that just 60 seconds of immediate microwaving will cause garlic to lose some of its cancer-protective properties. Immediate boiling of whole, intact garlic will also lower these properties, as will immediate addition of a very low-acid ingredient like lemon juice.
Some of garlic's unique components are
most durable in food (versus processed extract) form. Allicin—one of garlic's most highly valued sulfur compounds—stays intact for only 2-16 hours at room temperature when it is present in purified (extracted) form. But when it's still inside of crushed garlic, allicin will stay viable for 2-1/2 days.

  1. Garlic may help improve your iron metabolism. That's because the diallyl sulfides in garlic can help increase production of a protein called ferroportin. (Ferroportin is a protein that runs across the cell membrane, and it forms a passageway that allows stored iron to leave the cells and become available where it is needed.)
  2. In addition to being a good source of selenium, garlic may be a more reliable source as well. Garlic is what scientists call a "seleniferous" plant: it can uptake selenium from the soil even when soil concentrations do not favor this uptake.
  3. The cardioprotective benefits of garlic may partly rest on the production of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas. Our red blood cells can take sulfur-containing molecules in garlic (called polysulfides) and use them to produce H2S. This H2S in turn can help our blood vessels expand and keep our blood pressure in check. Interestingly, some processed garlic extracts cannot be used by our red blood cells in the same way and do not seem to provide the same level of cardioprotection that is provided by garlic in food form.
  4. While still in its very early stages, research suggests that garlic consumption may actually help to regulate the number of fat cells that get formed in our body. 1,2-DT (1,2-vinyldithiin) is one of the unique sulfur compounds in garlic that has long been recognized as having anti-inflammatory properties. But only recently have researchers discovered that some of our fibroblastic cells (called "preadipocytes") only evolve into full-fledged fat cells (called "adipocytes") under certain metabolic circumstances involving inflammatory system activity. 1,2-DT may be able to inhibit this conversion process. Since obesity is increasingly viewed by researchers as a chronic state of low-grade inflammation, the inflammation-related benefits of garlic's 1,2-DT may eventually be extended into the clinical area of obesity.

Tips to Remove BLACK SPOTS ON FACE


Everyone wants a flawless and clear- glowing skin. You are lucky if you have a fair complexion, but sometime a single spot on your skin might make you look unattractive. Don’t worry! Just follow some simple tips given below to get rid of dark spot.

TIPS AND TREATMENTS:
Shea Butter :
  • Shea butter help to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Apply raw shea butter to the affected area.
  • Shea butter is also used as a main ingredient in many skin whitening and skin rejuvenation products. Try to choose shea butter based product for your skin.
Lemon Juice:
  • Lemon juice contains natural bleaching properties.
  • Apply lemon juice over the black spots regularly for a few days.
  • You can also make this remedy more effective by mixing 1/2 tsp lemon juice with glycerin and apply it over the black spots on skin.
Cucumber:
  • Cucumber is fully loaded with skin bleaching properties.
  • Apply a paste of cucumber or use cucumber juice over the black spots.
  • Add a few drop of rose water to the cucumber juice for better results.
Saffron:
  • Saffron is well known for its skin whitening properties.
  • You can make a paste of saffron in rose water and apply it over the black spots to get clear skin.
  • Another effective remedy – mix 2 parts saffron with 1 part honey; apply it over the black spots on skin. 
Honey:
  • Make a mixture by mixing honey and lemon juice.

Turmeric:
  • Turmeric is also loaded with many skin whitening / skin lightening properties.
  • Make a paste by mixing turmeric powder with milk.
  • Apply this paste to your affected areas.
  • You can also use a paste by mixing turmeric powder, sandalwood paste and rose water and use it on the affected area.
Oils:
  • Many oils including Vitamin E oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sandalwood oil or almond oil are known to be very effective in the treatment of dark spots on skin.
  • You can apply these as much as times you can during the day. Massage it well over the affected area.
Packs:
  • Use these packs at least twice or thrice a week.
  • Make a mixture by mixing sandalwood powder + cucumber juice + tomato juice + few drops of lemon juice to form a thick paste and apply it on the affected area.
  • A paste of milk and oatmeal before bath is also a great remedy. 
  • Leave it for ten minutes and scrub it using a sponge or washcloth.

Good and Bad are Same depends on the attitude




In reality, good and evil are not different from each other. "Good" and "bad" are merely conventional terms. Depending on how it is used, the same thing can be "good" or "bad." Take, for example, this lamplight. Because of its burning we are able to see and do various works of utility; this is one mode of using the light. Now, if you put your fingers in it, they will be burnt; that is another mode of using the same light. So it is clear that a thing becomes good or bad according to the way we use it. The same is the case with virtue and vice. Broadly speaking, the proper use of any of the faculties of our mind and body is virtue, and their improper use is vice.
